This home movie theater, with its ticket booth and lighted ceiling, was created with the palace-style theater of yore in mind. To that end, Art Deco design synthetic molding, sconces and columns are used, both for décor and also to conceal speakers. Sound-absorbing wall panels are constructed of 1⁄2-inch plywood and 1-inch compressed fiberglass acoustical panels with decorative fabric. Black 2x2-foot acoustical ceiling panels hang at the front of the room with a fiber-optic star field ceiling effect lights seen throughout the room. All light circuits, including the low-voltage step lights recessed into the risers leading into the room, are controlled from a touch-panel remote.
The entrance to this room features new fabricated doors with round glass inserts etched with the letter M, brass push rails and handle and a custom fabricated marquee over the doorway.

What to do with a leaky, drafty 15-year-old barn on the property? Turn it into a multi-media area! Structurally, the vertical posts in the original structure impeded the view of the screen, so instead an engineered structural beam layout was installed within the walls to support the building without those posts. Supportive cross beams were stained to match the existing beams and anchored with custom brackets. The interior walls were gutted and rebuilt with urethane foam. To keep light out during movie time, an electric shade system was put in place, including over the window in the cupola, which is activated with the touch of a single button.
A room was added to the side to include a bathroom and an audio/visual equipment control room. All cables and electrical wiring are routed onto the tops of the beams running through the ceiling space.
